Winco’s 1450 Series Window Wall visually expands room size
The Pacific in sunny San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood is a gorgeous rehab of a former dental school into luxury condominiums. On the adjacent lot, the same developers built 10 new townhomes with a stunning look of their own.
The Webster Townhomes are a highly stylized version of the Victorian homes famous to the area. The geometric three-story structures feature pitched rooflines and angular bay windows supplied by Winco.
For this project, the Winco 1450 Series window provides a 4” depth that’s ideal for large openings and wide expanses of glass. Three window units are used together to create a window wall that angles out then straight across the front of the building at all three levels, providing occupants with limitless daylighting, incredible views, and the illusion of bringing the outside in.
All windows use a Guardian SunGard SN 54-low-E coated glass that blends into the platinum mica trim of the window frames. The coating helps reduce glare and enhance views. The exterior facades are outlined in silver metal panels accentuating the horizontal red cedar siding and oversized vertical windows.
The 1450 Series windows were selected for this project because of their design flexibility. As an affordable option to curtain walls, the 1450 Series allows designers to assemble the windows into any configuration with either operable casement or sliding styles.
