930 Poydras Apartments is an Architectural Winner
When the Poydras Apartments were built in 2009/2010 in New Orleans, its design was already ahead of its time. The 21-story, mixed-use residential tower took the shotgun-style rowhouses of the French Quarter up a vertical path. In a city where community is king, occupants could enjoy neighborly conversations in shared amenities like the double-height, cantilevered glass lounge on the ninth floor or on the rooftop pool, deck, and barbecue dining area.
But what really makes this building’s design stand out is its unique use of Winco 3325CW series
Zero Sightline Vent windows. Rather than create an all-glass exterior, the architects designed a façade featuring a random pattern of tinted, low-E glass windows set in blue frames amid gray steel panels. Most of the windows are situated on the upper floor where 250 apartments and five townhomes are located.
Inside, the 3325CW series curtain wall windows provide tenants with floor-to-ceiling daylighting and expansive views of downtown New Orleans with minimal sightlines. Another advantage Winco’s 3325CW zero sightline series provides is the ability to allow in fresh air with operable vents.
